Designing

Since 1999, 7vMedia has been one of the true innovators of company logo design, especially the process of working with clients remotely and online. Over the years, and after working with thousands of worldwide clients, 7vMedia has streamlined our design process so that you are assured of only the best when it comes to your particular project - design, client support and after sale technical support. Our business model remains the most imitated around, yet 7v still remains ahead of the pack, with our constantly improving step-by-step design system.

Before contracting one of the thousands of logo design companies to create your new corporate image, clients should have an idea of the image they want to portray. Funky. Cutting edge, Conservative. The 'buzz' words of business. You should think about whether you want an Illustrative logo (a logo that includes an illustrative representation of what your company does), an Iconic logo (a logo that includes a graphic - or abstract - representation of what your company does), a Text (font) Based logo (a dynamic type treatment that is unique to your company), a Graphical logo or a combination of all three. See here for pros and cons of all four logo types. You should also consider the future usage of your logo as this can determine the technical set up of your design and might pose some design limitations (your 7vMedia designer can advise you of these limitations and possible workarounds). You should also be aware of some of the technical restrictions of certain logotypes..

You've decided that you need a corporate logo design - either to enhance your established image, or to create a new one. What to do now? You may need a logo repair, or a completely new custom design. You should decide if you want an illustrative logo (a logo that includes an illustrative representation of what your company does), an iconic/graphic logotype (a logo that includes a graphic - or abstract - representation of what your company does), or a font-based logo (a dynamic type treatment that is unique to your company). For a look at the Pros and Cons of these logo 'treatments' see our treatment comparison page. You can also check out our various logo design categories.

You should also consider the future usage of your logo (letterhead & stationery design, brochure design, etc) as this can determine the technical set up of your design and might pose some design limitations (your 7vMeida designer can advise you of these limitations and possible workarounds). You should also consider color choices - whether you utilize a two spot color, or four-color process design will greatly impact any reproduction rates in the future. Once again, The Logo Factory can advise you on the ways to maximize your reproduction possibilities while maintaining your logo dynamics.

Depending on your application and reproduction of your Design, you may require additional file formats.

PDF files (letterhead): - Adobe Portable Document Files that are compatible with many computer applications and software. Can be used for internal office use and/or printing. Can also be made available for download from your website. May require some artwork variation from Print-Ready Impositions to allow for limitations and print areas of most office desktop printers.

TIF Files: - Sometimes requested by online printing firms who are 'ganging' brochure designs on a large sheet with other similar printing jobs. While not recommended by The Logo Factory, this is a common method employed by discount and online printers.
